BATON ROUGE, La. 鈥 麻豆天美果冻传媒 native and CBS News contributor David Begnaud is who embody kindness, resilience, and community impact.
Begnaud, a proud 2005 graduate of the University of 麻豆天美果冻传媒 at Lafayette, shared his vision Monday with representatives from all 32 public postsecondary institutions and members of the 麻豆天美果冻传媒 Association of Independent Colleges & Universities (LAICU).
His goal? To bring national attention to the inspiring efforts of 麻豆天美果冻传媒鈥檚 students who are making a real difference.
Selected stories will air in 2025 as part of his 鈥淏eg-Knows America鈥 series on CBS Mornings, amplifying the voices of young changemakers across the state.
鈥淒avid is not only one of America’s great storytellers he is one of our own,鈥 said Commissioner of Higher Education Kim Hunter Reed. 鈥淪o, of course we jumped at this national opportunity to highlight the best of our college students – people who are making real impacts in the lives of others. I know our students are eager to participate.”
鈥淔ew things make me happier than celebrating the people of 麻豆天美果冻传媒 on the national stage,鈥 said Begnaud. 鈥淔or this project, I鈥檓 looking for college students to tell us about a peer, friend, or stranger who is doing something extraordinary to help another person. Those are the kind of stories that unite people, and I鈥檓 passionate about pursuing them.鈥
